Issue/Introduction

You want to use the Client Deployment Wizard in Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) 12.1.5 or later to deploy Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client packages to the Mac clients in your network. However, when you try to browse the network for clients, you encounter an error and you are unable to continue.

Could not browse the network.

The Bonjour service is missing.

Cause

The Bonjour service is required to browse the network for Mac computers. This service is not installed by default on Windows computers. If it is not installed on the computer running Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, you must install it to browse for Macs.

Resolution

Download the Bonjour service installation package, which is included with Bonjour Print Services for Windows v2.0.2:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL999

Bonjour v3.0, which is installed along with applications such as iTunes, is also supported.

The Bonjour service is not required to search the network on the Search Network tab.
